Please join us for an evening of art, refreshments, and conversation as we celebrate the opening of the newest gallery exhibition featuring the artwork of Nancy Ariza and Lara Hanson.
About the Artists:
Nancy Ariza explores traditional and nontraditional woodcut and relief printing through collage and three-dimensional applications. Her illustrative, fanciful prints are inspired by nature, folklore, taxidermy, and unique forms of transportation. Nancy Ariza holds a BFA in Printmaking and BA in Art History from Minnesota State University Mankato and has exhibited work at Highpoint Center for Printmaking’s Threshold Gallery, Carnegie Art Center, and the 410 Project. She is a member of Highpoint’s Artist Cooperative and the Art Shoppe at Midtown Global Market.
Lara Hanson is an interdisciplinary artist who combines drawing, animation, and movement to explore the mantra Life=Movement/Movement=Life. She collaborates with dancers and choreographers in her artistic practice with the objective to discover where dance and drawing meet and to create a new discipline that blurs that distinction. Lara Hanson holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College and has exhibited and performed at Plymouth Congregational Church Fine Arts Gallery, Walker Art Center Open Field, Black Dog Coffee and Wine Bar, and American Dance Festival.
