Holly Tappen is an abstract expressionist who paints realism.
“I pull out classical forms from abstract beginnings. The images of figures appear as though a magical spell is cast on the chaos underneath.”
She loves the medium she works with: “Oil on linen is sensuous”. Her goal for her viewers: “I want them to see action and movement in a painting- I want them to see the moment that abstraction becomes realistic. I want to take people on the journey.”

A painter for sixteen years, she says the WARM mentorship program has given her permission to explode self-imposed restrictions. “Art is an exploration, journey, and destination all at the same time. ”
